How long will the certification take to complete?
Workshop content is every Sunday for four weeks. You can expect to dedicate 5-10 hours per week learning the content.
What are the dates?

Are the lessons recorded or live?
All lessons are pre-recorded. If you’d like live support, you will have access to weekly office hours sessions each Friday from 3-4pm EST.

About Your Instructors

Richard Dunks, Assistant Instructor/Course Developer
Richard Dunks is a seasoned data analyst with over six years of public sector experience, specializing in advanced data science techniques and capacity building for local governments and non-profits nationwide. He has developed and taught data courses for clients and institutions including Pratt Institute, Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins University, and is currently an adjunct instructor at NYU and Tulane University. Richard holds a BA in Sociology from Ithaca College, an MS in Applied Urban Science from NYU, and is pursuing a public administration degree at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Sarah Kontos, Assistant Instructor (GIS)/Course Developer
Sarah Kontos is a data analyst with a background in GIS mapping and transportation data. Her work positions storytelling at the core of effective and meaningful data analysis. She currently works at Citymapper and has experience in the nonprofit and tech industries. She holds a BA in History from the University of Pittsburgh and an MS in Urban Design from The New School. She is based in Brooklyn.

Born and raised in the vibrant heart of Queens, NYC, Christian holds a master's degree in cognitive neuroscience from the Graduate Center, CUNY. With a lifelong passion for data, he’s honed my skills to become a dedicated 'Data Detective.' He is adept at uncovering insights and patterns within complex datasets, and is excited to bring his unique blend of analytical prowess to the Department of Transportation’s employees through these workshops.

Kimberly Wright brings over 15 years of experience in strategic business management and data analysis, with a career spanning finance, consulting for Fortune 500 companies like Verizon and Bank of America, and founding an AI-augmented SaaS platform during COVID.
